Memorials To God

Have you ever felt that God is not listening to you and wondered what is the point of it all?

It can be really frustrating when we find ourselves in a situation where we don’t feel God is answering our prayers.

In Acts 10 we meet a Roman centurion named Cornelius.  Scripture tells us he was a devout man who feared God.  Not only was he a man of faith but he also did many charitable deeds for people.

One day an angel visits him and says “Your prayers and acts of charity have ascended as a memorial offering before God” (Acts 10:4).

It sounds interesting that Cornelius‘ prayers and good deeds ascended as a memorial offering to God.

What a powerful picture of how nothing is wasted or unimportant to God.  When we feel those times of loneliness we can remind ourselves that our prayers and service are an offering that rises up to God and pleases Him.
